The couple met back in August, 2019. Nick was living with his friends in Milford and was a frequent flyer at the restaurant/bar Stonebridge. Alyssa was supposed to be at another bar celebrating her friend’s birthday, but there was a change in plans and she ended up at Stonebridge, too! Alyssa was dancing the night away with her best friend Cami, when Nick approached her on the dance floor asking if she wanted to get a drink. Alyssa decided to take a break from dancing because she never really liked the song “The Git Up” by Blanco Brown anyways and was interested in getting to know Nick. Nick proceeded with getting Alyssa and Cami drinks and they met Nicks best friend , Jeff at the bar. Alyssa and Nick shared many laughs and back and forth banter before she eventually gave him her number at the end of the night. They ended up texting the rest of the night after leaving the bar and Nick even contacted Alyssa the next morning asking to go on a date. At first, Alyssa wasn’t sure and was nervous about meeting up with Nick but her sister Amanda, convinced her to go. The following week Nick and Alyssa talked everyday, getting to know each other and decided to meet for brunch at the Sinclair. Their date flowed effortlessly with lots of smiling and laughter and the two quickly became inseparable. It didn’t take long for them to realize there was something special between them!
For months, Nick thoughtfully planned a trip to Antigua for the couple. At the time, little did Alyssa know that Nick planned this vacation because he wanted to propose to her. He truly wanted this moment to be special for her and to celebrate their love and future engagement. Since Nick started planning the trip, Alyssa along with her friends and family were suspicious of his proposal, but didn’t want to get overly excited yet. Nick kept his secret and continued to plan while working closely with the event coordinator at the resort. Originally, Nick planned a private romantic dinner on the beach with flowers and champagne for his proposal. However, the rain had been unusually heavy and non stop since they arrived and the manager at the resort cancelled their dinner without notifying them. Nick was so upset by this sudden change in plans and quickly scrambled to pull something else together. When there was a short period of time without rain, he asked Alyssa to go for a walk on the beach and then he quickly proposed. Unfortunately, they got caught in the rain but they were so excited that they didn’t care and made the best of it. Alyssa said yes right away and claims that was the easiest question she ever answered!
