Our story began in the most modern way—on Facebook. I was 15 and he was 16 when we first added each other. I still remember his profile picture: he was standing in a bathroom, rocking a big mohawk. It definitely caught my attention! We started talking on and off, getting to know each other a little bit at a time. But then, he told me that Blooming Prairie was “too far” from Owatonna, and our conversations faded away for a while. Fast forward a few years, and I moved back to Minnesota. Suddenly, he started popping up on my notifications again—loving all my pictures and hearting every story I posted. He never sent a message, just quietly cheered me on from afar. After months of this, I finally decided to take the first step and messaged him. That message was sent on February 19th, 2019. Not long after, on March 2nd, 2019, we hung out for the very first time. Looking back, it’s funny how a few clicks and a bold message turned into something so special.

After four wonderful years of dating, we decided to keep up our favorite tradition: visiting a sunflower field to take pictures together, just like we do every year. The day already felt special, but I had no idea just how memorable it would become. As we pulled up to the field and parked the car, the song "Marry You" by Bruno Mars started playing on the radio. We both laughed at the perfect timing, but I still didn’t suspect a thing. We wandered through the sunflowers, snapping pictures and enjoying the golden afternoon light. We took several photos, laughing and soaking in the beauty of the field. Just as we were about to leave, he suggested we take a few more pictures, this time standing back to back. I turned around to face him—and there he was, down on one knee. He looked up at me and gave the sweetest, most heartfelt speech about our journey together and how much I meant to him. Then, with the sunflowers all around us, he asked me to marry him. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
