The Wedding Website of Sasan Jahanian and Sivamala Ghandikota
Welcome to our wedding! We could not be more thrilled to share this day with our favorite people. From the very beginning of our relationship, we knew that our wedding wouldn't just be about the two of us joining hands, but about our two families joining hearts. Today, we are so blessed to celebrate our union with both a Hindu and a Zoroastrian ceremony. While coming from different traditions, the core of both of our faiths is the same: a celebration of light, the blessings of our families, and the enduring power of love. As you celebrate with us today, from the early morning tea to the final bite at our luncheon reception, we hope you feel the beautiful connective tissue that brings our two cultures, and our two families, together as one.

Guest Arrival

8:30 am - 9:00 am

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate one of the most meaningful days of our lives. Tea and coffee will be served from 8:30–9:00 AM. Please enjoy some refreshments, connect with loved ones, and be seated by 9:00 AM as our Hindu wedding ceremony begins.

Hindu Wedding Ceremony

9:00 am - 11:30 am

Welcome to our Hindu wedding ceremony! We are honored to share this beautiful, ancient tradition with you. Centered around the sacred fire, the ceremony is filled with vibrant and meaningful rituals that symbolize the joining of our two families and the beginning of our life together. The Muhurtham is the time of highest significance in the Hindu faith - the exact, astrologically calculated minute, which will take place at exactly 10:01 AM. If you are wondering why it is exactly 10:01 - every minute carries its own astrological significance, and numbers ending in "1" are considered incredibly lucky, symbolizing an unbreakable new beginning. It's from this moment that the union gets solemnized through rituals such as making a lifelong promise to support one another (Jeelakaram Bellam), the tying of the sacred thread (Mangalasutra Dharana), shower of blessings (Talabralu), and the seven steps around the fire (Saptapadi).

Intermission

11:30 am - 12:00 pm

Here there will be a quick 30-minute break! While the bride and groom get ready for the Zoroastrian ceremony, we warmly invite you to step out and enjoy some appetizers and refreshments. Please be sure to return to your seats in 30 minutes, as our next ceremony will begin promptly.

Zoroastrian Wedding Ceremony

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

We are honored to have you witness our Zoroastrian wedding. Dating back over 3,000 years to ancient Persia, our faith is guided by a simple philosophy: Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. At the heart of our tradition is the celebration of light and truth. Today, you will notice a sacred fire present throughout our ceremony. In Zoroastrianism, fire represents divine light and purity. It acts as a spiritual witness, ensuring the vows we make to one another are rooted in absolute truth. As priests chant ancient prayers to bless our journey, we will share in cherished rituals. You will see us encircled by a sacred thread, symbolizing our unbreakable bond, and showering each other with rice to invite abundance and joy.

Luncheon

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Following the ceremony, we'd love for you to stay and celebrate with us at our luncheon reception! We’ll be serving a wonderful mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. So we can make sure everyone is taken care of, please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
