By Sarra Mulugeta 'Twas the Saturday before Memorial Day, the weather was nice, I had just finished finals and was looking for a reason to celebrate. Rahwa suggested we go to a lounge to meet up some of her friends, I agreed. We get to the lounge, there is a cover charge and of course we have no cash ( believers of credit only). So Rahwa calls one of her friends to come down and lend us some cash....any idea who this friend is yet? You guessed it, Andy walks down and pays for both of us. Backstory here, I had met Andy once before in passing and thought he was arrogant so I did not like the idea of him paying for me. I insisted on paying him back, to which her responded "your money is no good here" so I figured I'd just talk to him until he finished his drink and then buy him another one. There was no way that I'd be indebted to this guy. I had quickly realized my first impression of him was off, we spent the night talking, dancing and as cheesy as it was he proposed to me before the night was over (jokingly of course). In fact his first text (see below) to me was, this is your husband... and 4 years later on Memorial Day Weekend, he will be.
