You'll likely be flying into Bangkok via Suvannabhumi Airport and to Phuket from Bangkok via Don Meung Airport. At Suvannabhumi, we recommend getting some cash. Cards will work in most places, but it's worth having some cash on hand! The Airport Link is the cheapest option out of the airport. It costs about $5 but takes the longest. Taxis are highly recommended. Tips are not required but are happily accepted. Cash only, likely less than $20. This is the easiest option by far. On your way back to the airport for your flight home, we recommended downloading and using Grab (the equivalent of Uber in Asia) or asking the hotel to request a taxi to the airport for you. From Bangkok you can book a domestic flight to Phuket. This should be relatively inexpensive, and the flight itself takes about an hour. Once in the city, we recommend staying in a hotel near an MRT or BTS station, especially the Sukhumvit line. If you have questions, let us know!
