Traditional Cambodian Ceremony

8:00 am - 5:00 pm

For Day One, guests are welcome to wear traditional Cambodian attire to honor the ceremonies, or cocktail casual if preferred. We encourage comfortable, respectful outfits suitable for a day of meaningful rituals, blessings, and family celebrations.

Day 1 is dedicated to traditional wedding rituals that symbolize love, respect, prosperity, and the joining of our families. Throughout the day, guests will experience a series of meaningful ceremonies that honor our culture and heritage. The day begins with the Introduction Ceremony, a ceremonial procession representing the groom and his family arriving with offerings, symbolizing gratitude, respect, and the union of 2 families. This is followed by the Hair Cutting Ceremony, a symbolic ritual where elders and honored guests participate in a mock hair-cutting to bless the couple with harmony, wisdom, and a fresh beginning together. Guests will also witness Blessing and Prayer Ceremonies, during which monks or elders offer prayers for happiness, good health, and a strong, loving marriage. One of the most meaningful moments is the Knot Tying Ceremony , where family, friends and elders tie red strings around the couple’s wrists as a symbol of unity, love, and lifelong commitment.
