How we met? Where to begin? I had been invited to go to a volleyball fundraising event down at Revere Beach by a couple of friends who are on the Chelsea Police Department. I said sure why not, Owen was 2.5 years old and needed some fun. Plus there was sand and ocean. Good enough for me. So we packed all our essentials for the day and made our way there. I put all of Owens sand toys down and let him go to town! I see a bunch of my friends there, as well as a friend who was on Revere PD. Marcos. I'm chatting away when I turn to look for Owen to make sure he's ok and there's this strange guy playing with him in the sand. Now my first thought. STRANGER DANGER!! I was ready to go over there and rip this guy to get the heck away from my son! haha but my friend Marcos said no no no thats officer Vecchia! He's a really great guy and super nice! I rolled my eyes at Marco and said ok but im still gonna watch this guy like a hawk! The day passed and Officer Vecchia played with Owen for a while! mind you he had also had one to many drinks so he probably WAS having alot of fun playing in the sand. By the end of the day I collected Owen and his beach toys, Officer Vecchia had already moved on at this point and we left. Now 2 months to that day I get an invite to go to Kowloon for a friends birthday. Joe singer. Now if you know Joe he's hilarious and such a great guy. I Convince my cousin Wendy to go with me, mind u we weren't even gonna go. We arrive there and im talking to singer and a bunch of other friends when in walks Officer Vecchia. Singer introduces us, I shake his hand and said I know you!! He looks at me like I'm crazy.... and says I am really sorry but I don't know who you are. I gave a huff like ok big shot. I said you were playing with my son at the beach in the sand!! His eyes brighten up and he say's wait thats your son! Eyeballs me up and down, and says I have a picture of was playing that my friend took! He shows me this adorable picture of them playing and I said yes thats my son! His tune changed very quickly and he says well it's really nice to meet you!! I rolled my eyes and said sure, you didn't even remember me! I chuckled and walked away. I continued having great time with my cousin. As the night came to an end I was walking out with Wendy , when Officer Vecchia comes behind me and said hey! I turned around and said yes? he said "I was just wondering if I could have your number to make sure you get home ok" I looked him up and down and said " buddy oldest game in the book and you're pretty scrawny I highly doubt you can even life me up" He gave me a look of amusement and said "I can't pick you up"? he proceeded to pick me up and give me a twirl! I definitely was not expecting that! Mind you the only reason he chased after me was thanks to his friend Michael D'Amore who told him he was an idiot if he didn't, if it wasn't for him we would have never spoken again!! So I gave him my number not thinking anything of it. Fast forward 10 years later and clearly the rest was history from that night on!
