Take the Metro North train from Tarrytown to Grand Central Station, then either walk ~1 mile uptown or take the subway to central park! It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL in the fall! So much to explore in the area: the Loeb Boathouse, Central Park Zoo, Strawberry Fields, the Bethesda Fountain (from Friends!) and more!
Easily the best brunch in NYC. You may have to wait in line to be seated but it goes fast and the food is worth the wait!! (get the biscuits!!!!)
Lots of great food and shopping to explore! Definitely check out Artist and Fleas, where they host some wonderful independent local vendors (think: candles, jewelry, clothing, etc.) You can walk to Little Island and the West Side Highway from there and walk off all the yummy food :)
Great authentic dim sum in Chinatown! No reservations during peak hours on weekends but, again, wait goes quick! Great food and fun experience!
If you don't have time for a Broadway show but still want to hear some talented singers and enjoy a "show," this place takes dinner and show to the next level! Standard diner food but the waiters are all aspiring Broadway actors! They sing and dance on the tables, so fun.
I personally prefer the MoMA as it houses Van Gogh's Starry Night and Monet's Water Lillies but the Met is most iconic. The Guggenheim and The Whitney are also great!
