Sara and Scott became friends at the young age of 17, when they met at their Lake Bluff Beach summer lifeguarding job. They went their separate ways after high school graduation, catching up with each other from time to time. While Scott made brief stops in New Zealand and Wisconsin, Sara found her place in Champaign-Urbana. In the Fall of 2016, thanks to some sneaky work by a dear friend of theirs, Sara invited Scott to a sorority date event: their first date. It went well! Sara and Scott have been together now for over 9 years, including surviving multiple long-distance stints while finishing school. Through busy and challenging times, they were always there for each other. Those first five years of only seeing each other every two to three weeks have made their lives today that much sweeter. Home is now together in Lincoln Park, Chicago with their two spunky cats, Nelson and Phoebe. Scott proposed to Sara on June 21, 2025 where it all started . . . Lake Bluff Beach.
