It's Finally Happening!

We are finally saying "I Do" after 10 years of dating! We can't wait to celebrate with you!

The Proposal

(Dustin)

At the beginning of 2022, I decided that it was finally time to propose to Sara after 10+ years of being together. I bought a ring with just about the biggest rock that I had ever seen. I had to sit on it for several months, waiting for the perfect time (I'm terrible at keeping secrets, so my anxiety was through the roof thinking that I would slip up). When Sara went on a week-long trip to Nashville for a work conference, I knew it was my chance. Her bestfriends from Nor Cal graciously offered to help me throw the perfect proposal. Jackie and Jenn flew down to San Diego to help me setup and decorate, while Amanda tagged along with Sara to Nashville to make sure her nails were done, and that she made it on the plane home in time for the proposal (hungover and almost missed it, but mission accomplished!). When Sara got home, she opened the door to find our living room decorated with our pictures together, a path of flower petals, and a beautiful dress with a note to get ready and meet me in the backyard. When she finally came out, 'From the Ground Up' by Dan & Shay was playing, and I was waiting for her. After a few words, I got down on one knee and popped the question. Fighting through the tears, the emotions, and the hangover, SHE SAID YES! I'm truly blessed to have met such a wonderful woman, and I can't wait to share a life together <3

Dedicated to the Memory of Yoko Sales

Throughout our time together, our biggest supporter was Sara's grandma, Yoko Sales. Grandma always welcomed us into her home, having a freshly made bed and a ton of home-cooked food ready whenever we were hungry. She was caring and kind, and she always reminded us to be nice to each other and to those we love. We would spend the days 'working' remote, talking and laughing, and watching sports, the news, or 90 Day Fiance. Grandma was the first person we called after the proposal, and she was so excited for our wedding day. It hurts that she won't be here to share our special day with us. But we are so thankful to have spent a lot of time with her in the past few years, and we know that she is still watching over us, and sending her love from a better place. We love you, Grandma.
