It was May 2017: Descpacito was #1 in the charts and Jason and Saranya were mere weeks away from graduating college. Dating was the furthest thing on either of their mind: Saranya was gearing up for medical school, while Jason was dodging calls from recruiters. One item on Saranya's college experience bucket list that was yet unchecked was to attend a fraternity formal. She was swiftly set up by a mutual friend to attend formal with Jason. Jason and Saranya first met over coffee at Joe's (RIP); what was meant to be a 20 minute meet-up to ensure Jason was not a catfish turned into over an hour of chatting. Saranya agreed to be his date for his last fraternity formal. Jason and Saranya danced the night away and first fell in love on the dance floor to the sweet sounds of Daddy Yankee. Saranya asked Jason to be her sorority formal date for the following Friday which he accepted; however, even one week was too long to be apart. They met up midweek for Taco Tuesday at Drinker's Pub, which quickly became a standing tradition. They spent nearly every day of that summer together. They met each others families and discovered Indian and Irish families aren't so different after all. Saranya began medical school that fall; while she spent long hours in the library studying, Jason was right beside her, coding for fun. Their support for each others dreams never faltered.
