It all began at a lovely place called 601 Bar & Grill. Sarah, her brother Nick and a few friends came in one night for some cocktails and fun. Tommy was bartending that night and Sarah caught his eye. After a few too many fireball shots and some obvious flirting, Tommy asked for Sarah's number. She put it right in his phone and was excited and anxious to see if he'd ever use it! Not more than 5 minutes after Sarah left that night, she got a text from Tommy.... and the rest is history! About a week later Tommy and Sarah had their first official date at The House of Blues in Chicago. After that, the two discovered that they shared a love for many things like food, cooking, wine, travel, Halloween and much more! Tommy officially asked Sarah to be his girlfriend on December 21, 2014, but over the years they have celebrated the anniversary of their first date which was October 17th. Their favorite anniversary spots are New Buffalo, MI and Lake Geneva, WI where they spend their time enjoying wine and relaxation!
After about 5 years of dating, Tommy and Sarah had been through it all and their love for each other had only grown stronger. Tommy decided it was time to ask this wonderful woman to be his wife. Tommy put a lot of thought and consideration into how he was going to ask her because he knew that her family was very important to her. He knew that he had to find a way to include them in this special day. Sarah was very close with her father who passed away in 2015 and Tommy knew that it would be mean the world to her to include her father as well! Every Easter, Sarah and her family visit their dad's grave site to decorate it and include him in the celebration of the holiday with him. So, Tommy decided that would be the day! He gathered both of their families at the cemetery, Sarah's family was prepared with cameras and Tommy's mom and sister were hiding in the background watching from afar. When Tommy was ready he placed a letter on her father's grave asking for permission to marry his daughter. Sarah finally knew something was up! He then pulled her aside and told her how much he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He forgot one thing... he never said "Will you marry me?"! He was obviously nervous so she went ahead and said YES anyway! They laughed about it together on the way to brunch where he then officially asked, '"Will you marry me?". It was such an all around beautiful day and a proposal that neither of them will ever forget.
