Fort Macon is a 19th Century Civil War Fort loaded with history. Fort Macon was constructed between 1826-1834. The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is a great way to spend the day! From river otters to stingrays, sharks and rare white sea turtles, there are plenty of stunning exhibits to peruse throughout the aquarium.
