Julia (she/her) is Patrick's sister and longest friend. Throughout their entire lives, they’ve been step in step - even both majoring in French at Grinnell College! Well, Julia was an Orchestra kid, and Patrick was a band kid, but you get the point.

Jill (she/her) was the very first person Sarah met at Grinnell! They bonded instantly over their trials as women in physics. Nothing brings two people together like studying linear algebra until the lights in the science building go off!
Jacob Friedman

Jacob (he/him) is Patrick's very, very, very, very distant cousin (they share an ancestor that came over on the Mayflower). But in all reality, their friendship is much closer than their familial relation! They bonded over ultimate frisbee and good music from their very first week at Grinnell after they were put on the same floor together.
Emily McClure

Emily (she/her) met Sarah when they both worked in Residence Life at Grinnell. (Shoutout to South Campus!) They practiced talks before a conference together but ended up mostly chatting about life! They’ve continued their impromptu deep, rambling conversations ever since.
Thomas Aldrich

Thomas (he/him) asked Patrick to be his roommate for their second year at Grinnell, but they ended up staying together for three! From Cleveland Hall to Elm Street, they bonded over good food, music, and games (of course). After graduation, Thomas had to cede the title “Patrick's Roomie” to Sarah, but they remain great friends!
Julia Wermuth

Julia (she/her) and Sarah met in high school jazz band. As the only two girls in the ensemble, they bonded quickly and were soon sharing Aruba Coconut lotion on the bus home from gigs on cold winter nights. Bath & Body Works didn’t carry that scent as long as their friendship has lasted!
John Clark

John (he/him) and Patrick also lived on the same floor at Grinnell and met each other the first week of college. They've been great friends since then! They love playing games together, both in person or online - just don’t ask how many hours they’ve logged playing Smite and Hearthstone…
Halle McCarthy

Halle (she/her) is one of Sarah's beloved cousins! Throughout their childhood, Halle and Sarah traveled together, from Germany to Jamaica. Their bond goes to show that the saying on their grandma’s hand towel is true - "cousins grow up to be great friends."
Eddie Rosenblum

Eddie (he/him) and Patrick's relationship started with a coin toss to see who got the single room in their first-year dorm. Patrick won the coin toss, but they both won a great friendship! After graduation they've gone on to work together at Epic, so whatever algorithm put them together deserves some credit!
Ida Griesinger

Ida (she/her) is a dear family friend from Germany. Sarah went on her first solo trip to Germany when Ida was just a baby, but miraculously Ida claims to be the one to have taught Sarah how to speak German! During Ida’s last trip to the US, she and Sarah were stopped and asked if they were mother and daughter - the answer is no!!

Jim (he/him) is a dear family friend from Germany! Don’t let his nationality confuse you, his English is phenomenal! He wins the award for most patient German teacher - and for Patrick look-alike!
