Walkway Over the Hudson State Park
A local favorite with great views of the river and surrounding mountains. We've ridden bikes and walked across this pedestrian bridge many times, as it connects to the Empire State bike path in both directions. Good for getting some exercise and fresh air in, if you want an accessible view of the Hudson Valley. Just be aware you'll be very exposed to the weather (whether that's extreme sun, high winds, etc).

Amazing (and enormous) Italian sandwiches. Better than Katz's? The most iconic Poughkeepsie eatery.
New Paltz
New Paltz is a town we both love! Fun fact: We had our first date in New Paltz in January 2021! We started with a snowy hike at Minnewaska State Park and ended with dark beers around the fire pit at Huckleberry. Pho Tibet is another favorite spot for food, where we had our first Valentine's Day dinner. Multiple quality purchases have been made at Rock and Snow, the gear shop. Mountain Brauhaus on the road to Minnewaska is the spot for authentic German food. And there are tons of farm stands around too. Just go visit if you have extra time! ♡
