Question

Are my kids invited to the wedding?

Answer

This is adults only party! We love all the kids, but this isn't the best venue for them and we just can't accommodate them all. We know that this is a long way to travel for many of you and if bringing your kids to the wedding is the only way you'll be able to join us, let us know directly and we'll do our best to include them. We are happy to help find babysitters within our trusted Salt Lake City crew for Saturday! Kids will be welcome at the welcome event on Friday, Sept 12!

Question

PSA: We're at high altitude, stay hydrated!

Answer

For those coming from sea-level, reminder that we are at high altitude in Salt Lake and even higher where the wedding is (8500 ft). Drink plenty of water to keep yourself well hydrated through all of the activities during your visit, and know that alcohol can hit a lot harder at the higher elevations.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It can be extremely variable up in the mountains! Dress for warm weather and very cold temperatures at night! Its usually still sunny and nice this time of year, with temps in the ranging from hot summer heat to 70s in the day and 50s at night (For the Canadians that means, maybe hot in the day, and maybe cold at night). The canyon can get down to the 40s or 30s temperatures at night, so be sure to bring a warm jacket for the wedding night! We hope for sunshine on the wedding day, but things can/will be mostly indoors if needed.

Question

How do I get to the wedding?

Answer

There will be a shuttle from the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird (about 1 mile down the road) to get to and from the wedding. Otherwise, there is Uber/Lift that can get you to/from the wedding. We DO recommend renting a car to get around Salt Lake and up the canyon if you want to explore the area more as it isn't a super public-transit friendly place. Please don't drink and drive - reminder that Utah has essentially a zero % tolerance law for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Question

I want to hike! Anything I should know?

Answer

We hope you spend some time enjoying the outdoors, it is why we love it here so much. Here are some important things to know: It can get HOT (bring lots of water, there are no water fountains in the wild but you can drink the stream water if you have a filter), you will be at altitude (this will make a 3 mile hike feel like 6 (elect for shorter hikes at the start of the trip before pushing it), Mother Nature will always win - please ask us if a hike seems like there might be dangerous parts or if reviews say 'extremely challenging' or 'no-fall zone.' We can tell you if people are being dramatic or if the hike is actually sketchy, you will not have service in a lot of places (Make sure you tell someone about your hike plans before you head out), yes there is wildlife (we are in their home and lucky to share it with some amazing animals, that being said be respectful, keep your distance and you will be fine - for context we have put in 1000's of miles on trails all over Utah/Arizona/Colorado and have never had a dangerous encounter with an animal and no we do not carry spray/weapons of any kind).

Question

Are dogs included?

Answer

Unfortunately Big and Little Cottonwood canyons are watershed area and dogs are not allowed up the canyon. There's a hefty fine if you try to sneak one up there, so they've gotta stay at home!

For all the days along the way
