FAQs

Question

How can I get to and from the venue?

Answer

To get to and from the venue, we’ll have shuttles back and forth from the Club Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort, which is located at 333 N Myers St. Shuttles to the venue will leave at 2:30pm and 3:15pm; returning shuttles will leave the venue at 8:45pm, 9:30pm, and 10:15pm. If you are not staying at the Wyndham and need to park a car there, there is a large parking lot across the street for $5/day. Renting a car is another option, and the app Turo has some great deals. Uber and Lyft are also options, though when the reception ends at 10pm it may be difficult to get one close to the venue, so calling a taxi works too.

Question

Should I stay in Oceanside or San Diego?

Answer

The bride and groom, as well as the venue, are all in Oceanside, which is about a 40 minute drive from San Diego. If you would like to stay near us, there are lots of options on the travel tab. The venue is about 20 minutes East of us, and we will be running a shuttle to and from the venue from the Club Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort. Leaving: 2:15pm, 3:00pm Returning: 8:30pm, 9:15pm, 10:00pm San Diego is such a great city to visit, so staying there is also an option, even if just for part of your trip! We’ll list some fun neighborhoods on the “things to do” tab for both San Diego and Oceanside to help you find the perfect stay. The Coaster is an awesome option for getting between downtown San Diego and downtown Oceanside if you want to visit one from the other.

Question

Will we spend the whole day in one location? Is it all outdoors?

Answer

We will be at the Botanica Venue all day, from the ceremony at 3:30pm through the reception, ending at 10:00pm. It is an entirely outdoor venue, so be sure to check the weather ahead of time. There are concrete pathways, but also lots of grass - so be warned, stiletto-lovers!

Question

You already eloped but you're still having a ceremony? What will that look like?

Answer

Yes, we are already married (yahoo!). While the elopement was perfect and intimate, we want nothing more than to share our excitement and joy with all of our loved ones, like we originally planned. So, since we’re already husband and wife, the ceremony you’ll come to see will technically be a renewal of vows - but we’re treating it like the real deal so it's like no one missed a thing! You can bet we’re going to celebrate like we’re tying the knot for the first time :)

Question

Why did you move the event to California?

Answer

We know this is a big and inconvenient switch, so we want to make sure everyone knows it was not a decision we made lightly. Oh boy, did we try to make our date/venue work! Unfortunately, with our schedules (*cough cough* Navy), our availability was restricted to the late Fall/Winter 2021, which is after the Vista (our previous venue) stops hosting outdoor events because it gets too cold. Other winter options were much too small for our guest list. This, coupled with continued Covid-19 concerns around indoor events and the difficulty of planning a new wedding from across the country, brought us to the decision to plan the new event for California.

Question

Where can I see the elopement photos?

Answer

If you want to see the photos from the elopement, you can paste this link in your browser! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1s55BWbYqMo8gmkc2Twm3p87TLtP3tEGI?usp=sharing
