How it all started...
Our story began eight years ago in 2017, when we were both studying at UC Berkeley. Our first date was one for the books – Vik showed up with flowers, a charcuterie board, and Malibu. He took Sarah on a walk around campus, showing her his favorite hidden spots, including the forbidden roof of Doe Library! What was supposed to be a one-hour date turned into five hours of getting to know each other – Sarah’s love for reality TV shows, Vik’s love for food, our life-long dreams, and everything in between. We both left the date knowing that this was something special. After Vik graduated, he moved to San Francisco while Sarah completed her degree at Berkeley – we balanced diving into our careers and navigating our early twenties, while always making our relationship a priority. We intertwined our friend groups and this became our era of weekly date nights, monthly road trips, and annual music festivals. Through all the fun and laughter, we became best friends.

And so it continued...
When the pandemic hit and travel restrictions took effect, Sarah, whose parents live in Bombay, found herself stuck in the US. Vik’s family welcomed her into their home and over the next few months – through daily Taboo games, sanitizing food deliveries, and long (but rewarding) drives to The Melting Pot – Sarah became a part of the family. When travel restrictions were lifted, we visited Bombay; there, Vik spent mornings catching up with Sarah's dad over work and politics, and dedicated late nights to competitive Catan battles with her mom and sister. He fit right in. Fast forward to 2022 and we decided that we wanted to experience a new city together – so we packed up our lives and moved to New York (the best city in the world)! More adventures awaited us – career pivots, surviving the winter, discovering MáLà Project, binge watching Love Island, and celebrating our wins hand-in-hand. We knew that the best adventures and memories were the ones that we created with each other.

Bringing us to...
So, on that warm summer day in July 2024 – amidst the breathtaking cliffs of Positano, Italy – when Vik got down on one knee and asked Sarah to spend forever with him, it was (after a brief adrenaline blackout) the easiest yes she had ever said. After 8 magical years together, we feel incredibly grateful to be able to celebrate this next chapter with you – we can’t wait to see you soon!
