Our story began in Dallas TX in the summer of 2019 when we first met at the Katy Trail Ice House. The “hangout” we were attending was a setup by mutual friends of ours who thought we might be the perfect match. As soon as I saw Sarah Jane, I knew there was something about her - she seriously lit up the whole room! After a few more group “hangouts,” I worked up the nerve to ask her for her number and finally secured our first date. We had a blast going on dates, and I was blown away by how smart, classy, and loving SJ was. (And before I forget, she always left me with a side hug at the end of every date - modest is hottest.) Fast forward a year and a half later and I’m in Tulsa OK the day before Christmas Eve hiding behind a brick column at an art museum in 45 degree weather with one mission: asking the woman I’ve been praying for since I was 18 to marry me! I hear a car door close and SJ talking to her family. All I can think is "ITS HAPPENING." A few minutes later she walked up the stairway, and in what felt like slow motion, I stepped out to meet her with a huge smile on my face, knowing I was about to ask the girl I love to be my WIFE. I grabbed SJ’s hand and walked her down to the bottom of the property, where after a lot of miss pronounced words and crazy emotions, I got down on one knee and said “Sarah Jane Grisham, will you marry me?” And ya’ll, she said YES!!! There’s so much I could say about SJ and I’s relationship - it’s fun, full of laughs, and adventures - but what’s most important is that Jesus is at the core. We have experienced time and time again already that our relationship grows stronger when we put God first and each other second. That sacrificial picture of love is what marriage is all about, and I pray that we continue to give Him the glory and the fame as we follow Him and push each other closer to Christ every single day we are on this earth! We love you all, and I are excited to celebrate with you on July 30th!
