We’re Getting Married!

For starters, our families have been friends for years. In fact, Penny (Carlen’s mom) give my parents a baby shower for me when I was born.. and Carlen and I had no clue until we started dating. Small world, right? Fast forward 20 plus years.. I could honestly write a book.. but i’ll try and keep it short. In 2016, Carlen and I met at a pond near his house. My best friend and Carlen went fishing one day, so I went to join them that afternoon. In 2017, we ran into each other at a wedding, we sat and talked for hours. Carlen says “I knew after that night, I wanted to be with you. You were going to be mine.” For a year, Carlen ask me on many dates, to which I said no. In 2018, I gave in, we went on a date, and it ended horribly (he agrees to this.) However, Carlen never gave up. He continued to chase me another year. In 2019, my family had a tragic accident happen. Carlen messaged me and was “my rock,” through it all. A mutual friend said “SG, give him a second chance.” So, I did. We went on several dates and we just “clicked.” We started dating on June 13, 2019. I knew I loved Carlen a month into dating, and I knew he would be my husband after two months of dating. Our relationship took off fast, but “when you know, you know.” On October 30, 2020, Carlen (w/ help of special friends) took me to the pond where we first met, got down on one knee, and ask me to be his wife. In that moment, my prayers become my reality. I was getting to marry my best friend, a God Fearing man that was made just for me. He is the man my Gen-Gen and I always prayed and shed many tears over. In fact, my Gen-Gen wrote me a letter 3 months before Carlen and I started dated Saying “SG, I pray for your future endeavors and future husband. If we ask God to send you your husband, he will answer our prayers.” So, I truly belive Carlen was God sent to me. I am so thankful for Carlens persistence & we are both so thankful for God’s perfect timing❤️

I chased this girl for 3 years, she gave me the go around. Starting in 2017, I knew I wanted her to be mine. I tried and tried. In 2018, we went on a date. It was terrible, but I still wanted her. In 2019, I tried one last time. I said to myself “okay Carlen, if she doesn’t tell me happy birthday, i’m done trying” Lucky for her, she did say Happy Birthday. We messaged for a few months. Her family had a tragedy happen, and I was basically her backbone through it all. We went on a date, I said “Thank you Lord,” and the rest is history. We started dating on June 13, 2019. I fell in love with her and on October 30, 2020, I took her to the place we first met, got down on one knee, and ask her to be my wife. God’s timing was and always is perfect. Our story is to be continued❤️
