Things To Do
Lonesome Lake Trail
This is one of our favorite smaller hikes in Franconia Notch. The trail starts at Lafayette Place Campground, about 30 minutes north of our wedding venue. The hike is 3 miles long round trip and involves 1,000 feet of elevation gain to reach the lake. The hike takes about 2 hours without stopping. Join us for a group hike here (weather permitting) on Saturday, October 18th at 7:00am! We will carpool from the Common Man Lodge parking lot (304 Main Street, Plymouth) at 6:00am and plan to be back before 11:00am. If you decide to join us, please bring hiking boots or trail running shoes, water, warm clothes and a rain jacket.
Flume Gorge
Please call ahead as reservations are required and the Visitor Center usually closes for the season around the date of our wedding. Flume Gorge is arguably the best sightseeing spot in Franconia Notch (if you're not up for a big hike). The Visitor Center is located about 25 minutes north of Plymouth. The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The trail is a 2-mile loop involving lots of stairs and features glacial boulders and views of Avalanche Falls. Be sure to stop at the historic Flume Covered Bridge!
The Basin
The Basin is located in beautiful Franconia Notch State Park, just 25 minutes north of Plymouth. This is a great spot for sightseeing and exploring the park. The Basin is a short walk from the parking lot and does not require hiking gear to access.
Mount Liberty
Mount Liberty via Liberty Spring Trail is Sarah's favorite day hike in the White Mountains. This is a great option if you are looking to summit a mountain during your time here. The views are stunning! Mount Liberty is one of the NH 4,000 footers. The hike is 7 miles round-trip with 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Expect this to take at least 5 hours. Dam Brewhouse
The Dam Brewhouse is one of our favorite places to stop for a local craft beer after a long day of hiking! You can find it nestled in the small town of Campton, NH, just 15 minutes north of our wedding venue. Trust us, it's worth a stop.
Woodstock Inn Brewery
Another great post-hike stop and one of Dom's favorite restaurants! The Woodstock Inn Brewery is a well-known craft beer operation in the state of NH with a full restaurant. This is a great place to have lunch or dinner if you're exploring Franconia Notch.
Last Chair Brewery & Restaurant
This brewery and restaurant is located right in Plymouth NH. This is a great place to get lunch or dinner in town!
Lucky Dog Tavern & Grill
The Lucky Dog is a casual restaurant and bar right in downtown Plymouth, just minutes from the hotels and our wedding venue. Stop by for a nightcap and a game of pool!
Livermore Falls State Forest Pemi River Access
Livermore Falls State Forest is located on the border of nearby Campton and Holderness and is home to Livermore Falls and Pemi River access.
Historic Blair Covered Bridge
This covered bridge is located in nearby Campton, NH and will likely be a great place for leaf peeping on the weekend of our wedding!
Polar Caves
The Polar Caves Park features nine granite boulder caves that were formed by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Check out the website and book in advance!
Museum of the White Mountains
The Museum is located at Plymouth State University and is open Tuesday-Saturday. We haven't been, so let us know what you think!
