We had known each other for a few years through our church, New Hope Chapel in Plymouth, before becoming friends. Our relationship began as acquaintances working together in the Youth and Young Adults ministry, The Gathering, during James’ time in college. When James moved back to Plymouth to become the new Youth and Young Adults Pastor, we started spending more time together with a group of friends who rock climbed weekly. What began as casual hangouts soon blossomed into a deeper friendship, both inside and outside of church. As we spent more time together, our friendship naturally grew stronger. The more we got to know each other, the more clear it became that we were both interested in something beyond friendship. One Sunday morning, after James had a minor car accident (right before he was supposed to perform a wedding!), he decided to go all in and ask Sarah out on a date. To his surprise, she said yes! The following week, we shared an unforgettable day in Providence, where we made glass vases together. As the months passed, our love grew, and we knew this was just the beginning!
