We met in middle school technology class. Both of us were in the 'gold' group which meant we were some of the fastest at typing in our class. We made sure to make fun of each other every chance we got. Nothing came of it until junior year in history class when we reconnected. We would go for long rides in Brett's truck and discuss our dreams and ideas about the world. Our first kiss was on a snowy night in December.
I knew I wanted the proposal to be special, I just didn't know how I would make it happen. I set out with the help of my mom searching for the perfect way to ask the love of my life to marry me. After weeks of mulling it over the thought of a helicopter ride came up. What a great idea. The entire day was planned down to the most minuscule detail as to not reveal anything before the time came. The day came upon us. I was extremely nervous but held myself together. With my love beside me we walked into Barkley Regional Airport to meet with our pilot, Scott, of Stephen's Aircraft Solutions. After some pre-flight pictures we took off. Scott made sure that we had a great helicopter ride around the Paducah area. The sights were so beautiful that I was able to relax while in the air. We landed at Winereax's Winery in Southern Illinois. We waited until the blades had stopped and I helped my soon-to-be fiance out of the helicopter. I led her towards the winery. We began to cross a bridge lined with pictures of us throughout the past four years. Sarah noticed the first picture, stopped, and a quick breath was inhaled. The path was outlined with white rose pedals and the ring sat in the middle of a gazebo. The proposal was one of the best days of my life. Everything went perfectly and it could not have been done without the help of our Loving Father, friends, and family.
