Conner and I go way back. When I first walked into Mrs. Henderson's 5th grade classroom as the new girl, I saw Conner's familiar face from church. We became best friends that year and the rest is history! We officially started dating in high school and went through 3 years of long distance in college. We have been talking about our wedding for some time now and we are thrilled to finally start our lives together!
Conner flew home from Colorado on Friday and I had no idea he was in Tuscaloosa. Saturday night, my friends wanted to go to dinner one last time before everyone went home for Thanksgiving Break. Right before we left for dinner, Conner's mom called me and told me she had left her phone at our church and they were going to lock the doors at 5pm. My college house was very close to the church so she asked me to run over there and grab it before the doors were locked. When I got there, I found a vase with five red roses, one white rose, and a letter with my name on it in Conner's handwriting. Very confused and emotional, I opened the letter to find two tickets to Disney World (my all time favorite place) and a letter. His sweet letter explained the importance of our church to us and all the memories we share there. It went on to explain how the five red roses represented our five years of dating and the white rose signaled a new chapter in our life. Next thing I knew, Conner was walking out from behind the choir steps. I was OVERWHELMED with emotion because he wasn't even supposed to be in town yet. He got down on one knee, showed me the prettiest ring I have ever seen, and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!! We went to his house afterwards and celebrated with family and friends. Everything was perfect. It was an actual dream come true. Conner and I are overwhelmed with all the love and support we have received from everyone. It means the world to us during this exciting time. I want to thank everyone who helped pull off the biggest surprise of my life. I'm blessed with the most amazing fiancé, family, and friends and I can't thank you guys enough. We absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with you on June 9th!
