Chinese Hotel Name: 成都总府皇冠假日酒店 Chinese Address: 中国四川省成都市总府路31号 This is where we will be! Stay with us at the same hotel the ceremony will take place. If you plan to stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, please book your room at least 3 months in advance in order to make sure there is an available room for your stay. Breakfast is included at the hotel, but there are also many restaurants right outside. There are many surrounding hotels as well if you’d like to explore the area.

Flight

CTU Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport

We recommend flying into CTU Airport instead of TFU Airport. It’s much easier to get a DiDi pickup from CTU, making travel to and from the hotel simple. TFU Airport is farther away, has limited DiDi (Taxi) availability, and typically requires taking the subway. CTU is the most convenient option. If booking a layover in Beijing, allow at least 1.5 hours for your transfer. The airport is very large, requires a train between terminals, and you’ll need time to clear customs and security. When landing in China (including during a layover in Beijing or another Chinese city), you’ll need to complete an arrival card asking for: – Surname – Given Name – Sex – Nationality – Dat of Birth – Passport No. – Visa No. – Arrival Flight No. – Personal phone No. – Cities intended to visit in China – Purpose of this trip (Tourism) – Detailed address or hotel name while in China – City of hotel name (Chengdu) On the back: 1. Have you booked the ticket for your departure? (Yes) – If yes, please write down your departure information: Date of departure, Departure Flight No. 2. Do you have any reception unit or contacts in China? (Yes) – If yes, please write down the contact information: Name of Hotel, Address and Phone No. of Hotel 3. Which countries and regions have you ever been to in the past two years? You must list a contact in China—you can use your hotel. Have the hotel’s name, address, and phone number saved in your notes or as a screenshot in case you don’t have reception. Submit the completed form to Customs along with your passport and visa.

Travel Note

Applying for a Passport

If you do not already have a Passport, you will need to apply for one as soon as possible. If you do have a passport, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates and does not expire before April 2027.

Travel Note

Applying for a Chinese Visa

You can apply online or make an appointment at the Chinese Embassy, but we recommend using an online service for convenience and fewer complications. We have used VisaRite.com, though there are many similar providers. Plan to start the visa process 3–4 months before your trip, around May.

Rental Car

Uber/Lyft/Taxi Service

Download DiDi! This is China’s version of Uber/Lyft/Taxi and can be accessed directly through Alipay to request rides around Chengdu. Note: You’ll need the Chinese address for your destination, which you can find using the Dianping app. When entering the vehicle, drivers will ask for the last four digits of your phone number to confirm your ride—due to the language barrier, it’s easiest to type the numbers on your phone and show them to the driver.

Travel Note

Apps you will need in China

– WeChat: To communicate with anyone in China. – Alipay: You can use this to pay for anything you want to purchase i.e. food, clothing, taxi & rideshare, etc. – DiDi: This is China's version of Uber/Lyft. You can access it in Alipay to request reides around Chengdu. – Some kind of eSIM: We recommend either Nomad or Airalo, as those work best in China. – Dianping App: A good resource for looking up places/things to visit. It is in Chinese, but you can use a translator on your phone to search what you’re looking for on the app. We recommend setting all of these up before traveling! Please see FAQ for more information.
