We are hoping to have the ceremony OUTDOORS in the picnic area next to the log cabin. Seating will comprise of picnic tables and folding chairs. As of now, the weather is calling for sun and clouds with a high in the 70s - hopefully it stays that way! That being said, you may want to bring a jacket or shawl in case it gets chilly with the wind. Please be mindful when choosing shoes to wear - at least for the ceremony, know that they may get a bit dirty and you will have to walk on gravel and grass as it is a park. Finally, we recommend bringing a pair of sunglasses, just in case it gets a little bright! If it rains and we have to have the ceremony INDOORS, it will take place in the log cabin. If that is the case, seating will be limited and some guests may have to stand. If the ceremony is inside, we will be packed a bit more closely together. This is the back-up plan and hopefully will not happen, but we want to make everyone aware so that you can make the best choice for you given flu season, etc. The ceremony will last for about 30 minutes. We of course want everyone to be able to attend both the ceremony and reception, but if for any reason you prefer not to attend the ceremony given the weather or for health reasons, we are happy to meet you at the reception afterwards! Please do what’s best for you. We hope this information is helpful for your planning and we will see you Saturday!
Parking is free at both venues. Parking at the Newlin Grist Mill is limited, and we highly recommend carpooling to the ceremony. There are two lots connected to each other, one of which is over a bridge and backs up to the log cabin.
We want to get fancy with you! For the ceremony, please dress in semi-formal attire. For men, khakis and button-down shirts are welcomed. For women, pantsuits and cocktail dresses are also safe bets. Of course, if you want to dress even fancier than that, go right ahead! For the reception, feel free to break out a Halloween costume a few days early! We want to do the Monster Mash with you!
There will! No need to pregame for this, all the drink you could possibly need will be offered. And if drinking isn't your thing, non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
Your invitation will have indicated if you've been given a plus one. If you have any questions about whether you can bring a plus one, please contact either Sarah or Will.
We're only inviting adult family and friends. While we love your children, we want you to have a night out for yourselves.
The virtual RSVP form will have a space to indicate any special dietary needs. We will do our best to accommodate you!
