Sarah and Walker’s love story began during their junior year at Clemson University, when their mutual friend, Sofie Chirichiello, brought them together. Sofie, being the greatest matchmaker of all time, knew that Walker and Sarah would instantly get along because of their shared love of Mt. Joy. If you ask Sofie to tell the story, she will say it was purely for selfish reasons, and she did not want Walker bringing someone lame to fraternity events. Like most modern love stories, Walker and Sarah talked on Snapchat for a few weeks before Sofie told Walker to buck up and ask Sarah on a date, and he did. Their first date was a hike. Walker instantly knew Sarah was the one when she queued up “International Harvester” by Craig Morgan on the drive home. Sarah and Walker quickly realized how much they enjoyed spending time together and they continued to go on fun dates around Clemson. Tragically, junior year came to a close. Sarah moved to Jacksonville for the summer while Walker stayed in Clemson. Thankfully, their love story did not end here. Walker made the 6-hour journey to see Sarah not once, but twice. Finally, on Walker’s second trip to see Sarah, he asked her to be his girlfriend while at his favorite place in the world (besides Zaxby’s): Universal Studios. Sarah and Walker were inseparable their senior year of college. They attended football games, went to Mexico for spring break, and got to know each other's friends. After graduation, distance tore them apart yet again. Walker accepted a job in Madison, Wisconsin, and Sarah moved back to her hometown, Charleston, South Carolina, for an Internship. They did one hard year of long distance, which solidified their relationship even more and made them realize they never wanted to live in separate places again. So, Sarah braced herself for the cold and moved to Wisconsin to be with Walker. After two years of adventuring in Wisconsin together, Walker popped the big question on June 21, 2025. They had traveled to their favorite Wisconsin hidden gem, Door County, to celebrate their 4-year anniversary. On the way to a fancy dinner, they made a pit stop to admire a magnificent view of Lake Michigan, where Walker got down on one knee and Sarah said yes to forever. After traveling in Japan for a month, Walker and Sarah have now settled down in Charlotte, North Carolina, and they are enjoying this next big life step together.
