Although Vincent and Sarah both grew up in Richland, Washington, they didn't meet until April 2012 in Bellingham, Washington. Vincent was living in Bham at that time and Sarah was spending the weekend visiting friends up there. They met through mutual friends and connected instantly. They quickly developed a friendship and began dating in October of that year.

After Vincent graduated from school and Sarah finished her year with Americorps, the couple left on a road trip to celebrate. They traveled over 6,000 miles and through 8 states, visited 13 national parks, and spent 3 weeks camping in the Southwest US. Vincent proposed to Sarah at sunset during a magical evening in Joshua Tree National Park!!
