Ketchum is an awesome Idaho mountain town, and from the town square you can walk to everything! Here you can find amazing restaurants, coffee, breweries, ice cream, and tons of shops. Be sure to walk around town if you haven't been here before!
Visit the iconic and beautiful ski lodge! A great place for a drink and a bite to eat, there is also bowling, a year round ice skating rink, and a spa on site. In Sun Valley you can also play golf, go horseback riding, fly fish, and catch a movie. You can check out the ski area by riding the chairlift up the mountain to take in the views, go on a hike, or get some downhill biking in.
Idaho is teeming with natural hot springs. Here we have listed just a few of our recommendations that our close to Ketchum and Stanlet, but there are so many more! The closest is Russian John Warm Spring, which is just over a mile down the road from the turn-off to the 4-H camp. You can pair this with a hike to Baker Lake. Frenchman's Bend Hot Spring is west of Ketchum and Milford Hot Springs is near Craters of the Moon if you venture that way. Hot springs near Stanley and on the Salmon River include Snake Pit Hot Springs, Elkhorn Hot Springs, Basin Creek Hot Springs, Kem Hot Springs, and Sunbeam Hot Springs. If you are looking for developed hot springs, check out Easley Hot Springs, just down the road from camp!
Summer and fall activities within SNRA include fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, nature trails, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, birdwatching, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater boating, and riding on the motorized trails. Redfish Lake is located in the SNRA and is a wonderful place to visit, swim, boat, and hike around. The Sawtooth NRA is heaven for those looking for scenic drives. Three National Scenic Byways—the Sawtooth, Salmon River and Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byways—converge in Stanley, Idaho, just north of Ketchum.
