We met at prom in 2010. It was Sarah’s senior prom and Tim’s Junior prom. We had different dates, but were in the same group. After prom we all went back to the same house. Sarah fell asleep on one end of the couch with very little room and Tim was sleeping on the floor below. Sometime during the middle of the night Sarah decided to use Tim (who she just met) as a comfy foot rest to stretch her legs. The next day we all went to the beach for the day. Sarah and Tim stayed in touch and hung out all summer. Sarah would be leaving for college at the end of summer and wasn’t sure she wanted to get into a long distant relationship. Tim was persistent and finally Sarah said yes to being his girlfriend.

On the anniversary of when we first started officially dating (13 years later), Tim called Sarah and told her to come to the barn his foot had fallen through the floor and not to panic. Sarah was already on her way to put something back in the barn. When she opened the door she was so confused and asked “why is the door closed and what are you doing?” as she saw him propping up his phone on something. She immediately thought it was some kind of prank. Tim mumbled “well that didn’t work” as Sarah walked toward him to see what the heck was up..Tim got down on one knee “Sarah Nicole Weisel will you please marry me?” Sarah replied “yes! And you asked my dad right?” It was a surprise Sarah will never forget all sweaty and in their old barn.
