Spencer and I have a very special love story, our love found us when we both were ready to receive it. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened... I was a teacher/coach on Summer vacation, Spencer was in his second year in door to door sales. This year was pivotal for both of us, it was my first Summer coaching/prepping for middle school sports and it was Spencers year to keep the momentum going from his previous Summer. We were both on pace for bigger and greater things, which looking back makes sense on how we ended up in front of each other. Spencer is relentless at achieving his goals, he had knocked at my door three times prior to me finally opening it. I was home the first time, ignored him because I was unsure of who he was and uninterested in finding out (shame on me, haha!) The fourth knock and his final attempt to catch me, I finally gave in and decided to open the door to see why he had been in my neighborhood the last couple weeks. By this point I had witnessed him speak to most of my neighbors and was convinced he was HOA needing to speak with me. He knocked right as I was getting ready to step into the shower to get ready for a night out with friends, my husky at the time, Flash, started barking to let me know someone was at the front door. I ran and when I looked through my peephole, there he was, AGAIN! I quickly got dressed and ran back to greet him, by this time however he was halfway across the street, so I had to run and shout at him that I was finally ready to hear what he had to say. Spencer was so relaxed and excited to finally meet the person (me) he had been trying to catch for weeks, he casually smiled and went right into his sales pitch hahahaha! I did not understand any of what he was saying other than it seeming important because he had been by so many times. Without completely realizing what I was getting myself into, when he asked to step inside, I let him in. I soon realized he was there for my alarm, but after that was more interested in getting to know him and the adventure he was on. I was intrigued about everything, his life, his work, the jewelry he was wearing, he was the adventure I paid thousands of dollars to attend Graduate School hoping to find! The irony.... Before Spencer left my house that night, I felt an urgent need to hug him goodbye. At that point I had only experienced this feeling with one other person who (long story short) came to find out was an Aunt of mine. He was special, I could feel it, I just didn't know why but knew I needed to find out. Spencer and I spent almost every day together the rest of the Summer, we became inseparable and obsessed about the life and memories we were creating together. By the end of the Summer we decided to date long distance for my last school year of teaching. We agreed that if we survived those ten months then we were truly destined for each other and I would move from Texas to Arizona so we could be together. Needless to say, WE MADE IT! Since then we have lived in three different cities, but always find our way back home to Tempe, Arizona. Spencer and I are seven years apart, and although it may not seem like much, when you meet at the ages of 21 and 28 it is. I am in awe of the man that Spencer is, I love, respect and trust him with everything I am. There is not a doubt in my mind we were meant to find each other, he is perfect for me in every way. Since meeting, Spencer has continued to exceed my expectations, I am forever grateful for his relentless pursuit in discovering who lived behind 4319 Fondren St.
