Spencer and I were set up by mutual friends and went to a Cincinnati Red's baseball game the first time we met each other. I was nervous to spend the whole day with a guy I had never met - but we instantly clicked. We talked pretty much the entire game and even shared nachos (always the key to my heart). The next day, Spencer reached out asking when he could take me on an official date. A couple days later he took me to different places around Cincinnati where we ate, drank, laughed and had the best time being together. After that we were pretty much inseperable, spending at least 4 days a week together. A month later he asked me to be his girlfriend! Turns out that would be the last first date we both ever went on.

Spencer and I had been together for over 3 years at this point, and to say I was anxious for him to pop the question is the understatement of the year! Our whole family had a trip planned to Outer Banks, NC in August of 2022 and I was super excited to go on a trip with my family and Spencer. Honestly, I didn't suspect anything. I thought there would maybe be a chance he would propose but Spencer is a little more reserved than I am and I never pictured him asking such a big question in front of a group of people. During the vacation we all had the best time. Beach during the day and dinner and drinks at night. About halfway through the trip, I was convinced it wasn't going to happen. Then, one night, Spencer asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. I said yes, and did not suspect anything in the slightest (especially since I had just showered and was wearing sweatpants). Spencer and I started to walk along the beach and he suggested we pick out shells for our memory box. We started picking up shells when Spencer says "Oh look, I found the perfect one". I turn around, he gets down on one knee, says a lot of sweet things I can't remember, and asked me to marry him. I immediately was speechless and so surprised that I think it took me a whole minute to get the word "YES!" out. My whole family then popped out and ran over to us and started celebrating. It was one of the most magical nights that niether one of us will ever forget. The best "Yes!" I've ever said!

Spencer and I will be getting married on June 22nd, 2024 at Holy Cross - Immaculata with a reception to follow at The Monastery in Mt. Adams, OH. Since Spencer and I fell in love in the city of Cincinnati, I knew we wanted a venue that was in such a special location for us. We cannot wait to officially become husband and wife while being surrounded by all of our loved ones.
