Our story kicked off in February 2018 at the University of Oregon (go Ducks!). We met at a party at Spence's infamous live out, The Bungalow. Spence pulled Sarah aside as soon as she walked in and we spent the whole evening together. The next morning, we grabbed waffles, and from that moment on we have been inseparable.

We made it official on May 4, 2018. Sarah wasn’t looking for anything serious as her senior year was wrapping up, but Spencer quickly changed that. Our connection was too strong to ignore, so we decided to go for it. We navigated a long-distance relationship during Spence’s final year at college, and by 2019, we were both living in Los Angeles. In 2022, we took the plunge and moved in together, first cramming into a tiny New York City studio for two months before heading back west to Venice Beach. Now, with our fat orange cat Roo, we’re soaking up the laid-back beach lifestyle.

One year prior to our engagement, we spent our 5 year anniversary weekend in Carmel, CA. We both left that weekend with the feeling that that little stretch of coastline truly holds a special place in our hearts. So when it came time to propose 1 year later, Spence planned everything perfectly—except for the weather. On the big day, it poured relentlessly as we explored Carmel Valley, leaving Spence in a panic about his beach proposal plans. His dad texted, "Do you have a plan B?" Spence's response? "Grab a poncho." But just an hour before the proposal, the rain stopped, and the sun came out. Spence went ahead with his plan, and the moment was perfect. To Sarah’s surprise, both our families appeared on the beach right after he proposed. It was truly the best day of our lives, made even more special by celebrating with everyone we love.
