Minutes away, you will find Lake Davis, the Feather River, and the Yuba River near Downieville. Go fly fishing, swimming, or just go dip your toe in the water!
Downieville- Downieville is the California classic. The “typical” run involves roughly 5,000 feet of descent. Downieville proper is about 50 minutes from Chalet View. Check out Big Boulder Adventures or Downieville Outfitters for shuttles. Mills Peak- Mills Peak is a great 3,000-foot descent with all kinds of rocky flow. It’s an easy shuttle if you have multiple vehicles, but also a simple climb to the top if you’re looking for a pedal. There are multiple different trails in the area. The bottom trailhead is about 10 minutes from Chalet View. Mt. Hough- Another classic in The Lost Sierra. Shuttle up with Yuba Expeditions and enjoy 4,000 feet of smooth and fast descending. It is about 30 minutes to the Yuba Expeditions shuttle from Chalet View. Jamison Creek- A beautiful 13 mile loop with some tough climbing and rocky descending. Roughly 15 minutes from Chalet View. Everstoke- 91 acres of built-up trails for all different skill levels just a few minutes from Chalet View.
