We met during the Christmas season of 2022, and Segun quickly became the most wonderful Christmas present I could have ever asked for. Our first date, a Sunday brunch after church, was filled with laughter and deep conversations, leaving us both excited for what was to come. Exactly three weeks later, during another Sunday brunch, Segun set a new milestone in our relationship by asking me to be his girlfriend. When he traveled to Nigeria to spend the holidays with his family, even the distance and time difference couldn’t keep us apart; he woke up every day at 4am Nigeria time to connect with me before I went to bed. Segun returned to Seattle in January 2023, and from there, we went on countless dates. Our adventures–whether exploring new cities, engaging in Bible study, playing chess, enjoying cozy evenings in with a good book, or sharing endless conversations–have deepened our bond in ways we never imagined. Segun’s sense of humor never fails to make me laugh. His deep love for God, along with his respectful, romantic, and insightful nature, made my choice to be with him even more certain. Fast forward to a year and a half later, and when he popped the question, it was my most heartfelt "Yes"!!! We’re taking this step forward because our love story has been nothing short of magical. We’ve found in each other a best friend, a confidant, and a partner in all of life’s adventures. We share the same values, support each other's dreams, and our love grows stronger with every passing day. We can’t wait to say our vows, dance the night away, and embark on this beautiful journey together!
