The S&S story starts at work. Sean would visit Sarah at her desk, casually of course. Not thinking much of it, Sarah invited Sean to her Halloween party. Sean really liked Sarah’s Halloween costume. The next week, Sean asked Sarah to get a drink after work. Sean took her to a wine and cheese bar on the Upper East Side. On the subway there, Sean asked her if he could consider the hangout “a date,” to which Sarah replied “yes!” After a handful of dates, Sean asked Sarah to be his girlfriend.
Sean and Sarah moved into an apartment in the Upper East Side during the height of the pandemic. Central Park was, and continues to be, their favorite place to relax and go for a walk. They love NYC (and their short commutes) and haven’t moved since.
Sarah will tell anybody the day Sean proposed was the best day of her life. Sarah thought she was meeting her girlfriends for brunch on the Upper West Side. Sean suggested walking through the park that morning to get there. As they walked under a gazebo, Sean got on one knee. Sarah listened in shock as Sean made reference to their first subway ride. He said, “The first question I asked you, 'is this a date?' was the most important question of my life. Now I’m going to ask you the most important question of our lives. Will you marry me?” After Sarah replied with a huge YES(!!!), the two went back to their apartment. Sarah was surprised again when both sets of parents were there to celebrate the special day.
