Sarah and Sam first crossed paths during the summer Sarah was preparing to move to Charlotte. She was in town with friends, searching for an apartment, when a mutual friend of theirs invited the group out on a boat. It was on that boat ride that Sarah and Sam met, and the connection was instant. They spent the day tubing and laughing together, quickly discovering they had a rare and effortless chemistry. The next day, Sarah returned to Buffalo. The two stayed in touch and their bond only grew stronger. In August, Sarah finally made the move to Charlotte, and the rest is history.

Sarah and Sam had just settled into their new townhouse. After a long day at work, Sarah arrived home to find Sam waiting at the entrance. He asked her to close her eyes, then led her upstairs to the balcony. When she opened her eyes, she was stunned—before her, was her family, Sam's family, and all of her closest friends, gathered together. After a good long moment to take in the surprise, Sam got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said YES!
