Maid of Honor
The stars aligned that first day of 4th grade at St. Michaels, as Killeen and I hit it off the bat with aberrant jokes that would not be in short supply for the next several decades. Many friends and family were concerned for us as time went on - high school, graduation, first jobs, first apartments...all of which we were inseparable. If you saw either of us, the other was sure to be close by. I'll never forget the time Killeen's parents sat us down and told us to strongly consider purchasing a house together given the way things were going. Through life's ups and downs, we grew together and know each other better than the other, and much to everyone's relief we have now found our respective partners. If you ever need a story or a laugh, find the life of the party, my maid of honor.
Bridesmaid
I certainly hit the jackpot on Facebook when I found Nicole and finally got up the courage to ask her to be my roommate at JMU. Freshmen year in Eagle Hall turned into 4 of the best years living together all through our college careers. She is someone I can always count on and has the sweetest soul but is also a riot to be around, especially if you give her pizza, chocolate, or wine. You will find her adorable, charismatic, white-blonde daughter, Chloe, sprinkling the flowers on our big day!
Bridesmaid
She may deserve credit for getting me to make the move to ATX, but Rachel and I knew that freshmen year at JMU we would be friends for life once the first dance contest was thrown. Always looking for something new and, certainly different, to do she has been an integral piece in Ryan and my growing relationship and Austin family.
Bridesmaid
Some 30 years ago Joanna's mom used to visit Sally Bell's while my mom and she were pregnant at the same time. After we met in high school and became fast friends, we always claimed we were destined to meet since we already had in the womb. Joanna would also spend years of her childhood a block away from my parents' home, further ensuring our destiny to be pals. But it would not be until high school that we finally met and gravitated towards each other. One of my best friends from high school and post-college roommate, the memories are abundant, as are the good times. Dubbed "Mama Cougs" she always keeps us in line and is always up for anything.
Bridesmaid
Pecking my head across Eagle Hall, Alyse and I quickly realized we had the same quirky sense of humor and zest for adventure. Despite Alyse being quite the globetrotter, we've always remained in touch and I was even able to convince her to live in Richmond with me for a bit. Whether we're cruising down the highway with a pair of mannequin legs out the window for laughs or staying up late delving into prison documentaries, she's always on my speed dial even if it's just to appease her and send pictures of Wally.
Bridesmaid
Affectionally nicknamed "Cam" for no reason other than freshmen year at JMU, Jamie and I lived together for the remainder of our college years after meeting that first one. One of the kindest and cleanest people you will meet, Cam has always known how to be a true friend and just what to say to make anything better.
Bridesmaid
I've got Rachel to thank for connecting Katy and me, thus making my life tenfold more interesting. Quick-witted and the most off-the-wall human I know, it is impossible to meet anyone like Katy Huff. This forklift-certified, soap carving, online-ordained, sketch comic Ryan and I both call one of our closest friends has been a major piece in making Austin our home.
Bridesmaid
Meeting in high school, Desiree and my friendship grew quickly, carrying over into our mutual time at JMU and countless memories spent at her family's lakehouse. I have Des to thank for making me get my Spanish minor (so we could have classes together), attempting wakeboard tricks I never should have, and making me spend more time out in nature than I ever would have on my own.
Bridesmaid
Within seconds of meeting Erin, you will know she is from New Jersey, has two golden retrievers, and lives for the beach, whether you asked or not. Hard to be missed, as the curly and platinum-blonde-haired duo, Erin and I spent many of our transformative years on adventures at the shore or driving around with music blasting. Not short on generosity or care, she is a one-of-a-kind lady and friend.
Honor Attendant
The best sister anyone could ask for. Rachel truly cares about the world and the people living in it. She is as sweet as they come and always has a great attitude. She has a plethora of talents including and not limited to the piano, jui jitsu, and balancing spoons on her nose. Rachel has a great outlook on life and we are very happy to have her as part of our wedding.
Best Man
I use to call this dude Woe before I could say my J’s. Safe to say I have known him a while. Even though we are technically “cousins”, we grew up like brothers including the time he crushed my one-time lego masterpiece that I still am recovering from. Three years older, he’s showed me the ropes on how to handle this thing called life. I look up to him (metaphorically) and I am incredibly thankful to have this guy by my side on the big day.
Groomsman
Will and I go back to the pre-birth years when our pregnant mom's chest bumped at a work social event to jump-start a lifelong friendship. We’ve been best buds ever since, although I still don’t think he has forgiven me for the time I stole a PK from him in a big high school soccer game. Will is dependable, smart, a great family man, and some might say just a little bit stubborn. Excited to have him as one of my main dudes at our wedding;
Groomsman
James and I met when we both transferred to JMU as sophomores and were looking for roommates at the legendary Copper Beech apartment complex. We decided to live together after a phone call where we agreed we both had goals to crush the college of business and that there shall be no partying or fun having. When we arrived on campus to cement this rule, one of the first things we did was both join the same fraternity. He has been a best friend ever since and still lives down the street so we can go “study” every once in a while. James has impeccable motivation and determination and I am lucky to have a friend who challenges me to be the best version of myself.
Groomsman
If you picture what the quintessential brother-in-law is that every guy wants, Caleb is that exact guy. I was worried I might end up with a brother-in-law like Todd from Wedding Crashers but fortunately, I got the exact opposite. Someone I can watch sports with, listen to great tunes, and is always down for a great time. And let’s not forget to mention his impeccable style which ranges from Peter Millar to a top-of-the-line COOFANDY piece for special occasions. Caleb is a hard-working, considerate, and easy-going guy that I am happy to not only gain as a brother-in-law but also a great friend.
Groomsman
Peter, often referred to by others as “Gabriel,” earned that nickname for a reason. The guy has a heart of gold, is incredibly thoughtful, and I can honestly say I’ve never heard him say a negative word about anyone dating back to the 6th grade. He’s also the guy you get annoyed by because he is good at everything. And the weirder the sport or game the better he seems to be at it. Growing up he seemed to learn better while he was asleep in class than most do awake. A teacher would call on him when they saw him sleeping and he would wake up having processed the question in his sleep and give back a correct answer. Another best friend for life, I’m lucky to have Peter as a groomsman.
Groomsman
Corey was the third roommate to join our apartment when we transferred in to JMU. We started off on a bad foot when he showed up to the apartment with all his Washington Team football gear as a die hard fan and me being a lifelong Cowboys fan. Fortunately for us, the Washington Football team has been terrible ever since we met so our friendship has been able to grow and prosper. Corey is a man of the people, an incredible dad of 3, and a heck of a fantasy football owner. Even though we live half way across the country and both have busy lives, our friendship continues to flourish and is someone I will always confide in.
Groomsman
Another guy I have been honored to know dating back to Kindergarten. Chris is a friend that anyone would be lucky to have. He crushes life, as he dominates his career, is an awesome husband and father, and always brightens up the room with his great personality. He is a masterful networker and since we were kids everyone always has been drawn to be his friend. His handwriting still needs some work though, and if anyone knows a good handwriting coach let me know and I will send them his way. Chris is an essential part of the groomsmen and I am lucky to have him.
Groomsman
I could probably say Gray is my most distinguished friend. When we were picking our noses in elementary school, Gray was reading the newspaper and talking politics with our parents. A man that you could definitely say is “set in his ways.” There isn’t anyone quite like him. He’s been a great friend through all these years and is an impressive individual. I’m still wondering what happened to the 7th-grade varsity tennis wiz kid and how he didn’t end up on professional tour, but Gray has made quite the name for himself in other areas of life. I have a lot of respect for him and am honored to have him as a groomsman.
Groomsman
Curran growing up was a must have member of our friend group that we required at any event or gathering. His wit and humor can go unmatched and he always is the life of the party. Countless memories and laughs growing up that I can attribute to this guy. He is extremely intelligent and can tell you facts pretty much about anything. He is a pivotal piece to the groomsmen and I am thankful for his friendship.
