On their first date Sarah and Rob met at a local bar for a drink. The date was going great for both of them, until Rob mentioned his daughter in a passing comment. Sarah instantly took a handful of fries and put them in her mouth, uneasy and uncomfortable. She had a rule, ABSOLUTELY no divorcees or people with kids. Sarah exclaimed, "I didn't know you had a kid!" Rob was a bit confused by this, because he was very upfront about that on his dating profile and she must have missed it or forgotten (She had, in fact, missed it as she had consumed half a bottle of red wine in the tub the night they matched). Sarah then excused herself to go to the bathroom. She was going to ghost the whole thing. She texted her mom, aunt, and best friend furiously while in the bathroom and told them, she needs to leave, he has a kid. Eventually all three of them told her you NEVER like a guy on the first date, this seems different, in a good way...maybe give it a chance. She took a chance.
