Question

What if it rains?

Answer

There is a 46% chance of rain currently (April 24th 11AM). We are still going to have the ceremony at the Fort Monroe bandstand. Please bring an umbrella just in case. The reception will still follow at the Marriott (740 Town Center Dr, Newport News). If you get lost finding the location, type in the address for the Chamberlain on Fenwick and then park across the street. If you have any other further questions, please direct them to our wedding email (wonderfulwoodleywedding@gmail.com) and not to the bride and groom directly. We are a bit busy ;)

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress attire is business casual. It might be a slight bit chilly (but we hope it stays mostly warm). Bring a jacket just in case - we will be by the ocean for the ceremony. You will be walking on grass so choose your shoes wisely.

Question

You are not registered anywhere. What can we bring as a gift?

Answer

In lieu of gifts, we would actually appreciate donations to our mission trip to Russia as well as your prayers! But we are also fine with you sending a donation in our honor to a charity of your choice or a donation to our honeymoon fund. Please see our registry section on our website to donate.

Question

Where do we park for the ceremony?

Answer

Please give yourself time to park in the parking lot at Fort Monroe by the beach. Pass the bandstand (big gazebo) on your right and continue around until you see the beach. There will be a parking lot on gravel. You can then walk to the ceremony site (the Bandstand) and find a seat. I promise it's not a far walk and you will be satisfied with gorgeous views! There is another closer place to park that is across from the Chamberlain.

Question

Are there assigned seats at the reception?

Answer

There are no assigned seats but there will be reserved tables for the wedding party and family members. Please do not sit at these tables if you are not a part of the wedding party or a family member of the bride or groom. Please be respectful.

Question

Can we take pictures at the ceremony? Reception?

Answer

You are NOT allowed to take pictures during the ceremony. We ask for no flash photography. We have a professional photographer that will be taking our pictures. We will post these pictures at a later date for you to look at. You ARE allowed to take pictures at the reception if you wish.

Question

What if I'm late to the ceremony?

Answer

Not a problem. Just find a seat but please do not step in front of our photographer and do not make a scene or be too loud, out of courtesy to us and the other guests. Try to arrive slightly early if you are concerned about traffic or parking please.

Question

If I get lost and don't know where to go, who can I contact?

Answer

Please DO NOT bother the bride or groom. We are going to be too busy that day and especially have other things on our minds (like spending forever together). You can send an email to this address: wonderfulwoodleywedding@gmail.com and someone will try to get back to you as quickly as possible. If you have other questions about the ceremony at all, please feel free to use this email also.

Question

How early should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The earliest you can arrive is 3:30PM. We will still be setting up until then. If you come sooner, please feel free to offer a hand to those decorating.

Question

Are there bathrooms at the ceremony?

Answer

No. But there are at the reception location. There might be port-o-potties near the beach...we make no promises. Just make sure to go before you arrive.
