We met through friends near the end of our third year at the University of Chicago, striking a fast friendship based on shared interests in pop culture and alternative music. We started dating in June 2016, spent two years long-distance upon graduation, and moved to North Carolina to attend grad school together at Duke in July 2021.

Raza proposed in February 2022 on a mutually agreed-upon day—ah, the joys of scheduling during graduate school. We went to a lovely dinner thereafter. We'll be getting married just a few months after Raza finishes his degree and right before Sarah starts her final year.
