The bride, groom, and many guests will be staying in Ocean Grove. It will be our home base for the weekend. It's a funky iconic little historic beach town next to Asbury Park. It's a national landmark with gingerbread houses and a tent city. We recommend staying in Ocean Grove or at least walking through.
Asbury Park has shops, bars and restaurants on Cookman Ave. And more shops, bars, and restaurants - as well as the shell of an old casino and a scenic convention center - along the boardwalk. Good place for photos. The Stone Pony is there too.
New York City is about an hour away. Drive, bus, train, or Ferry.
Philly is about an hour away by car.
Belmar is not a bad place to go the beach or go for a run along the boardwalk.
Point Pleasant Beach is 25 minutes away. Home of Jenkinson's Boardwalk, you'll find rides, games, arcades, mini golf, an aquarium. Point Pleasant is also a good place for seafood and to see the boats roll in from the ocean at the Manasquan Inlet.
Seaside is about 35 minutes away. As seen on MTV's "The Jersey Shore" Seaside is...let's say...a cultural experience. But the boardwalk, rides, water park, and clubs might be fun!
AC is about an hour away. Good luck!
Six Flags is about 30 minutes away. If theme parks and roller coasters are your thing, Great Adventure is the best in New Jersey.
Great for adults and kids!
Take a photo in front of NJ's most iconic music venue, where Bruce Springsteen got his start.
Great for photos and a stroll (not a real casino anymore)
