A mutual friend would always talk to one about the other, until they finally met up at that friend’s apartment. When Sarah misplaced her phone, Paulie asked for her number to help try to find it. This will come in handy later. At the end of the night, Sarah settled in on the couch while Paul laid down on the floor just beneath her. They talked and laughed until the sun rose and birds started to chirp. In true New Jersey fashion, breakfast was delivered from a local bagel spot. That’s when Paul turned his aluminum wrapping into a little boat for her. Since she already had his number in her phone, Sarah sent the first text of that boat floating in her sink. Sarah was soon welcomed to Paul's family Sunday dinners and treated like one of their own. Paul was also deemed “the keeper” by Sarah's grandma and the rest of her family. These were just two signs that confirmed what they were already feeling.
