We’ve always known of each other in highschool being that we are from neighboring/rival schools through social gatherings and sporting events. Fast forward to our post-college years where we would run into each other out in downtown Saratoga Springs in the summer when Nathan would visit from Texas. Our paths would cross again in 2016 via a funny facebook post. We went to the movies for our first date and then became inseperable until his next business travel. It’s been a romantic adventure ever since.
Sarah had always mentioned that her dream date was to spend the day at a museum with her crush (Inspired by Ferris Bueller's Day off). They had a busy weekend of Holiday/Family gatherings so Nate had told her that they should get away and do a day of just their own Christmas celebrations. Nate got them a room at the Hyatt Andaz in New York City, across from the Library (that always reminded Sarah of Ghost Busters), and planned an afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While in line waiting to enter, Sarah was looking at the exhibit map and saw the Egyptian Art exhibit and Temple of Dendur. She quickly pointed out to Nate that she really wanted to see this which made Nate smile because he had called down earlier to find out the best place to propose and that was where they suggested. After a long afternoon and a quick snack they made it to the the Temple of Dendur just has the ushers were shouting out the 15 minute warning of closing time. The Temple suddenly became super crowded and Sarah wanted to go out to the side where there wasn't anyone around and she could take a full view shot of the room. As they stood near King Tutmose's statue, Nate asked Sarah how her “dream date” was going. She quickly responded with "great" in which Nate then replied with "How can I make it better?". Sarah was very confused by that statement and turned around to see Nate down on one knee. Sarah states that she then blacked out due to excitement but of course said "yes" over and over. The couple spent the night in NYC, with dinner at STK and enjoyed facetime sessions with both sides of the family.
