How We Met

2.17.2017

We met our Junior year of college at West Virginia University. I joined a sorority, and Mitch was in a fraternity. On the first warm weather day of 2017, my friends from the sorority decided to go to the fraternity to hang out. Mitch said he didn't even want to be there that day, but for some reason thought he should join. As the day had started to get colder, I was starting to think about leaving. I mentioned that I was cold, and Mitch said that he had a hoodie he could get for me because he lived in the house there. He went upstairs and came back with hoodies for both my friend and me. Immediately, I was intrigued. Not only was he good looking but he was selfless and was taking care of me on the first day we met. A little bit later, he and another guy wanted their photo taken. I was the one to take their picture, and I asked for his number so I could send it to him. After I left that night, we started texting. We immediately hit it off, and began dating a month later.

The Proposal

8.25.2019

We decided to go to the beach summer of 2019. On Day 1, it was gloomy and rainy. We had to go shopping since we couldn't go to the beach like you normally would on the first day of vacation. We waited all day hoping the rain would subside. Finally it did and we went out to walk the beach that evening. We walked pretty far and Mitch found a few sharks teeth! I was jealous that he found 2 shark's teeth! So I was also digging in the sand to look for one. All of sudden, the tide came in and splashed me. I was furious that I was now covered in both sand and water, with no shark's teeth. As I am trying to get up, I looked over and Mitch was down on his knees holding out a ring. He said "But it was all worth it right?" I was so mad that this was all happening while I was covered in sand and water. I had to rinse off my hands, then said "Yes!", and asked him to put the ring on my finger.
