Train
Amtrak is a great option if you're coming from (or flying into) Philadelphia or New York City. We'll coordinate picking people up from the Lewistown train station (45-ish minutes from State College, and unfortunately the nearest train station) on Friday, June 19, and dropping them off on Sunday, June 21. If you take the train, please take it into Lewistown so we can get you, and let us know that you'll be there! When you're booking, make sure you book to (and from) the train station. You can also book busses through Amtrak, and it's easy to end up at the bus station on a Greyhound by mistake.
Travel Note
Megabus is the best bus company to get into State College. Uber and Lyft are readily available from both State College bus stations. Megabus contracts with Fullington, so you'll occasionally end up on a Fullington bus, but neither Megabus nor Fullington is a bad bus experience (especially over the summer when not very many people are travelling into State College). Megabus runs to and from New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and several other smaller cities in Pennsylvania.
Travel Note
Greyhound also runs busses to and from State College, but service in this area is terrible. Last time we took a Greyhound, the bus driver forced everyone to get off two hours from home in rural Pennsylvania, and didn't run a replacement bus or refund our ticket. Avoid this if you can.
Flight
The closest airport is the State College Regional Airport. It's a small airport and you'll need to connect through Chicago O'Hare, Washington Dulles, or Philadelphia.
