Question

How has the wedding changed given its postponement?

Answer

While we were sad to have to postpone the wedding until 2021, we are excited that very little else has changed! The wedding will now be on Sunday, October 3rd from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Though we did get married last August, we will still be having a ceremony prior to the reception. Additionally, our menu has changed to include new seasonal options and has been updated in our RSVP form. Lastly, we had to change our hotel room block, as described below.

Question

How did the postponement affect the hotel room block?

Answer

Unfortunately the Inn at Middletown has limited availability the weekend of our new wedding date. The prior reservations made here are now cancelled, and we have made a new room block at the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell, CT. Please see the Travel page for more information about making reservations.

Question

What is your policy on COVID vaccination?

Answer

As two physicians, we have seen how terrible this disease is firsthand. We want our wedding to be as safe for everyone as possible, so we request that all attendees who are eligible for the vaccine get both doses prior to our wedding unless you have a medical reason for not doing so (e.g., pregnancy, history of severe anaphylaxis to prior vaccines, etc.). If you are attending and will not be fully vaccinated for a medical reason, please notify us directly beforehand. If you choose not to obtain the vaccine for other reasons, then we kindly request that you do not attend our wedding out of concern for the safety of yourself and others.

Question

What COVID precautions are going to be in place?

Answer

As you all know, we are requiring everyone attending the wedding be fully vaccinated. The ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting) and largely indoors for the reception, though there is also a tent that will stream the music for those who prefer to maximize their time outside. Masks are optional indoors, as all of our guests will be fully vaccinated, and this is in line with Middletown’s current guidelines based on high vaccination rates and a recent downtrend in cases. There will be plenty of masks and hand sanitizer available, and masks will be worn by all venue staff. Masks are still required for the shuttle services. COVID testing is encouraged but not required, and though we would love to see you all, please do not attend if you are feeling unwell out of consideration for other guests.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail, please. A dress, suit or equivalent are all great options depending on your preference!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest," then yes. If not, then we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels?

Answer

Yes, check out our Travel page for all the information you need.

Question

Should I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

When we look out into the crowd we want to see your beautiful faces, not your phones or cameras! We hired a fantastic photographer to capture the ceremony, but feel free to take plenty of pictures at the reception.
