We matched on Tinder while both at Long Island University, and neither of us expected much from a swipe. By November 2020, we were officially dating, and what started as casual hangouts turned into practically living in each other’s dorms (sorry to our actual roommates). Sarah spent weekends on the sidelines at Matt’s football games, and in between there were plenty of late-night food runs, campus adventures, and long drives around Long Island. Those years gave us a solid start and plenty of good memories. After graduation—Matt in 2022 and Sarah in 2023—we started figuring out life after college with new routines and our first adult jobs. We live with Sarah’s family now, along with Hollie, the family dog who Matt won over pretty quickly. In June 2023, we brought Bear home, and he and Hollie have been keeping us busy (and laughing) ever since. Travel has become one of our favorite things to do together. We often head to South Carolina to visit Sarah’s sister, Grace, while she’s in school, and make regular trips to California to see Matt’s family. We love exploring Santa Barbara, checking out local breweries, and visiting the places where Matt grew up. And closer to home, Newport, Rhode Island has become one of our favorite spots to escape to—a place we’ve returned to often over the years. On June 1, 2024, Newport became even more special when Matt proposed there. He planned it all out, and having both of our families and some of our closest friends around made it the perfect day. Since November 2020, we’ve gone from college dorms to adult jobs, added two dogs to the mix, and built a life filled with family, travel, and plenty of everyday moments together. Every step has led us here, and we can’t wait to celebrate our wedding with all of you.
