Matthew and I met in college as collegiate athletes and spending time around the same athletic facilities. If you ask Matthew, he noticed me well before I noticed him... and if you asked me... I was probably studying; but I was aware of a loud (obnoxious, lol) hurdler that meandered around occasionally. On one of my typical study nights in the Student Athlete center where I spent most of my free time, Matthew asked me for help editing a resume for an assignment and I ][thankfully] decided to acquiesce and help this poor guy edit his homework. From then, we became immediate friends; exchanging jokes, talking about music and movies, listening to Matthew's impressive impersonations. We even tried dating!! ...for about 48 hours. Then, we actually decided we would be better off as friends and continued to hang out. Sharing breakfast with our friends at Einstein's, raiding Hastings bookstores, and making snack runs like 2 collegiate athletes with good metabolisms have nothing to worry about (ahh the good ol' days.) Even to the point where I would be Matthew's wingman and confidant when he went on dates! After a few months though, we both realized we were being silly and that the person we wanted to spend most of our time with, was already with us. Since then, we've encountered graduations, moves across the country and back, late night long distances flights, kick-ass camping trips, all night road trips, and FINALLY...a WEDDING. We finally decided that we both wanted to get married, and to each other at that! Matthew proposed to me while we were hiking in Garner State Park, we made it to the top of Old Baldy Summit and I, naturally, was fumbling around with my camera and Matthew sneakily opened a ring box and asked me to be his wife. Who could say no? We are so excited to get married and cannot wait to have the people that mean the most to us there with us on a special day and the beginning of what will undoubtedly prove to be the adventure of a lifetime.
