Mark and Sarah attended the same school from kindergarten to graduation, but they never had many classes together and would briefly pass each other in the hallways. Fast forward to January of 2024. One of Sarah's brothers, Nick, was working with Mark and telling him about Sarah not being able to find guys to go on dates. After Nick provided Mark with a little encouragement, Mark requested to be Sarah's friend on a social media platform. That was when the first texting conversation between the two of them really took place. Sarah never forgot Mark's first text to her and it saying "hey, I'm at Wegmans do you want me to get you anything?". She found this to be very unique way to strike up a conversation and quite original. For about the next two months, Mark and Sarah would text each other everyday getting to know what the other person did after high school graduation and what they were doing for work. It wasn't until March that Mark asked Sarah out of their first date to Dinosaur Barbeque. Now in the mean time, when Mark would work with Nick, Mark was doing his "homework" and asking Nick what things Sarah liked and didn't liked and finding out Sarah has celiac disease, which is an allergy to gluten. Before Mark asked Sarah about going to barbeque, he called the restaurant to make sure they could accommodate to Sarah's food allergy. Sarah found this very impressive and so the two of them went of their first date. Their second date was to the New York Fairgrounds for the Farm Show and they continued to talk daily. Before the third date Sarah decided something at the time didn't feel right, so she wanted to be truthful with Mark. The following spring, Sarah was playing softball with her brothers and some of their friends. Nick decided to invite Mark to play with them and Sarah was excited to see Mark. After the game, the two of them rode together to get ice cream, which Mark knew was Sarah's favorite dessert. That night the two of them talked for awhile before Mark took Sarah home. They again started texting each other daily and the following week, Sarah invited Mark to another softball game. Over one of their many conversations Mark mentioned "floating holidays" which was an unfamiliar term to Sarah. Mark, half-jokingly, offered to make a slideshow and give a presentation about "floating holidays". Sarah immediately knew this opportunity was too good to pass up, so she asked to see the presentation. Now it could have just been the excellent presentation, or hanging out together during softballs games, or Nick always telling Sarah what a great guy Mark is, or Sarah realizing how extremely happy she was whenever Mark texted her, but something was now different. Now the time was right. Mark and Sarah officially became boyfriend and girlfriend in May of 2025. From that point on they have been on countless adventures, from airplane shows, to hiking, swimming, cooking dinner together, going to rodeos, antique boat shows, touring castles in The Thousand Islands, watching tractor pulls, many country concerts and much more! Mark popped the question on a beautiful day in early March. He called Sarah and asked if she wanted to go for a run in the town of Fabius. After that he asked her if she wanted to walk to the playground, since he knew Sarah loved to swing. They enjoyed the sun while swinging when Sarah asked Mark over for dinner. After driving back to Sarah's house Mark wanted to walk down to their pond. He went on the dock, as Sarah sat on another swing, and said he could see fish and called Sarah over. Sarah knew it was too cold for the fish to be active and did therefore not leave the swing. Mark then walked over to her and sat on the swing. At that moment, Sarah decided to get up and walked onto the dock. She leaned over the edge and exclaimed that no fish were in sight. As she turned around, Mark was down on one knee and very sweetly asked, "will you marry me?" And here we are.
